A Virtual Visit to the English School of Budapest.
ESB is starting a new International Bilingual daytime school from September 2018 in the 11th district, on Bocskai ut. The school will be set up for grades 1-8 but in the first year we offer classes in grades 1-4. Currently we are working towards gaining accreditation from CIE (Cambridge International Exams). We will work with the Hungarian curriculum for Hungarian literature, grammar, science and maths but the remainder of the subjects will be taught in English using the Cambridge International school curriculum. English will be the main language of the school. Our programme will be taught half in English and half Hungarian.
In all subjects ESB will utilise international teaching methodology to target skill development rather than simply knowledge. ESB’s approach will be child centred learning, focussing on the students learning skills and needs, raher than the traditional frontal method. Our priority will be to provide a safe and caring environment so that students feel confident to learn, explore, take risks, make and learn from mistakes.
The expected result is that students will be able to apply for the best Hungarian high schools or international schools. ESB will ensure students are equipped for that choice through high quality teaching, and modern facilities and resources.
